Junior Coaching

Juniors come high on our list of prorities at the Golf Academy. For the last eight years the Junior Golf Academy has been one of the largest and most successful in the UK.

Golfers who have come through the junior ranks include Mike Kanski who represented the country many times and was Lancashire Champion twice. Mike went onto represent England as an amateur before turning professional. Also Tommy Fleetwood has been coached here by Norman. Tommy has appeared on Sky Sports as an 8 year old prodigy and at the time was reckoned to be the worlds number one for his age. Since then Tommy has won The World Junior Championship, played for the country and is a regular winner in the England team.

Whilst we feel justifiably proud of our golfing high achievers we are equally proud of the many hundreds of children who have grown in self belief and confidence through learning and beginning to master golf.

Juniors can come along aged 6-14 and join one of our junior groups that run at weekends throughout the year. The courses run over eight weeks and are at the same time every weekend.

We have developed our own coaching programme which is at the same time fun and exciting, and allows children of all abilities to be included. During the lessons we follow a nationally recognised format and golfing passport scheme supported by the Golf Foundation.

If you prefer your child to have one to one tuition that can be arranged at times to suit you.

Individual junior lessons £15 for 30 minutes including range balls.

Course of 6 individual junior lesson £75 including range balls.

Junior Golf Academy £75 for 8 hours tuition including all equipment, hire, course materials and certificates.

Junior Competitions

At the end of each course of lessons we have a competition for all junior academy pupils who have completed the first two levels.

The competition is over 9 holes and is open to any child who feels like having a go. All the children are given a handicap that is adjusted depending on how they perform. This means that children of all abilities get the chance to win. The competition is divided into boys and girls with prizes for the top three in each category.

Summer Camps

We have a wide variety of activities for children to get involved in over the school holidays for both children who play golf and those who just want to give it a try give us a call for details or check out our up coming events page.

We have a thriving membership here at the Golf Academy with over 120 members. Membership alows you to play unlimited...

"In the past, the game of golf has suffered from the image of being elitist and inaccessible to many people. Our aim is to bring golf fimly into the millenium by giving people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to try the game in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

By combining the academy and course with our existing shop and driving range, we will give everyone an opportunity, not only to learn golf techniques, but also to take their newly acquired skills onto the course."
